London's air quality is amongst the worst in Europe and currently fails to meet EU limits on nitrogen oxides and fine particles.
Estimated deaths from prolonged exposure to emissions range from 1600 to 4000 per year for London - with some estimates being even higher.
Shas Sheehan, Wimbledon's parliamentary candidate, said, "I was truly shocked to discover that there is about three years missing data at Merton Council. The council has failed in its duty to monitor let alone manage local air quality. Residents living alongside some previously known hotspots have no idea whether their air quality has improved or got much worse. This is unacceptable.
