Shas, with MPs Susan Kramer, Edward Davey and Vince Cable handing in petitions to 10 Downing St. They were joined by Raynes Park residents Francesca and Adam Woodhouse whose beautiful daughter Isabella was born at Kingston Hospital in January
Shas Sheehan, parliamentary candidate for Wimbledon, and MPs Susan Kramer, Edward Davey and Vince Cable handed in over 15,000 petitions in an effort to safeguard threatened services at Kingston Hospital. They were joined by concerned Raynes Park residents Francesca and Adam Woodhouse, whose beautiful baby daughter Isabella was born at Kingston Hospital in January.
Shas Sheehan said, "Over the last thirteen years the Labour government has poured tens of billions of pounds into the NHS and yet today we are facing a threat to key frontline services at Kingston Hospital. Why? Because the the money has been misplaced, misdirected and mismanaged - in short it has been squandered. We will fight to make sure it is not ordinary people who suffer in Labour's attempt to plug the financial deficit in the NHS. I would like to thank everyone in Wimbledon who signed our petitions. It is crucial that we keep the pressure up and let the Government know that residents will fight to keep A&E and Maternity services at Kingston Hospital."
Francesca Woodhouse added, "It was obvious when I had my baby at Kingston earlier this year that midwives were rushed off their feet. We need more maternity services not less and closing a maternity unit that delivers over 6000 babies will put a huge amount of pressure on other local hospitals such as St George's and St Helier. We must stop this madness."
