Shas Sheehan and local activists campaign to save Kingston Hospital A&E and Maternity services
Liberal Democrat MPs, Ed Davey and Susan Kramer have uncovered controversial plans to close A&E and Maternity Services at Kingston Hospital.
The Maternity unit is already stretched and should be expanded not closed
Senior NHS staff have disclosed that the proposals are part of a comprehensive review of acute hospital services in London and that NHS bosses are trying to keep the plans secret until after the General Election.
Shas Sheehan said, "It beggars belief that a Maternity unit that delivers 6,000 babies a year is under threat. We know all too well that once a hospital loses A&E and Maternity services closure soon follows."
